What baked goods are available at each site?
With over 200 professional and home bakers contributing to the sale, you’re sure to find something you’ll love at each site. Every location will have Aussie-themed goodies like the koala cake pops, dinner rolls, and cookies pictured above. But HURRY!! Baked goods sell quickly, so arrive early in the sale for the widest selection of treats. Most sites have vegan, Paleo, or gluten-free options as well, although quantities of those goods may be limited.
Do I need cash for the bake sale? Does Austin Bakes take credit cards?
We accept donations by cash, check or credit card via our secure online giving page. If you’re at the sale and make an online donation with your phone, simply show our friendly volunteers your receipt and shop away!
We do not accept donations via Venmo or square. Checks should be made to “Global Giving – Australia.” For donations online and by check, you will receive a gift receipt for tax purposes from Global Giving directly to your email address or the mailing address printed on the check. Please donate online or via check if you need a receipt for tax purposes.
How much do the baked goods cost? Where are the price tags?
You won’t find a single price tag at Austin Bakes for Australia. All of our products are sold by donation. We ask you to shop joyously and give generously, whatever amount is within your means.
Where does the money go?
No matter which of our nine sale sites that you shop, 100% of proceeds go to Global Giving Australian Wildfire relief fund. We selected Global Giving as our 501(c)3 nonprofit beneficiary because of their excellent fiscal stewardship and 4-star rating by Charity Navigator. You can read more about the great work they are doing in Australia here.
Are you accepting donations of baked goods? Can I volunteer?
Sure thing! Baked goods must be shelf stable (no refrigeration needed, won’t melt) and completely wrapped/packaged for sale. Items should be labeled clearly and include allergen/special diets information. Baked goods will be accepted for donation from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at any of our nine sale sites across Austin and Buda. If you’d like to volunteer at the sale, please arrive between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM and introduce yourselves to the volunteers onsite.
