We have some big news to share– the locations of our bake sales!
Austin Bakes for Japan will have five locations on Saturday, April 2nd, so no matter where your day takes you, it will be easy to make a gift to AmeriCares and enjoy some great food! We owe many thanks and a big hug to our business partners who have agreed to host a sale. Here’s where you’ll be able to find us on April 2nd:
Downtown Austin: Woof Gang Bakery
1204 North Lamar Blvd., 78703
Austin Bakes for Japan will be set up in front of the main store entrance.
East Austin: Nomad Bar
1213 Corona Drive, 78723
Austin Bakes for Japan will be set up outside in front of the building.
West Austin: The Shops at Mira Vista
2785 Bee Cave Road, 78746
Austin Bakes for Japan will be set up at the east part of the shopping center, between Keith Kristofer Salon and Spa and Collectic Home.
Central Austin: Foreign & Domestic
306 E. 53rd st., 78751
Austin Bakes for Japan will be set up in the restaurant parking lot.
South Austin: Hotel San Jose
1511 South Congress Ave., 78704
Austin Bakes for Japan will be set up on the grassy area at the entrance of the Hotel parking lot along South Congress avenue.
Why five bake sale locations? The community response to Austin Bakes for Japan has been huge! We’re 80 volunteer bakers and several business partners strong. Plus, we’re still accepting donations of baked goods, volunteer help, and business support. By spreading out across Austin, Austin Bakes for Japan will give everyone a chance to pitch in and raise money for a great cause.
All five bake sale locations will be open from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, April 2nd. The west Austin location, The Shops at Mira Vista, will be having a Community Block Party that day until 5 PM, so we’ll keep our tables open there as long as the party’s going. Proceeds from sales at all locations will go to AmeriCares’ work in Japan. We’ll also be accepting donations online at our FirstGiving page before, during and after the sale.
Special thanks to volunteer Karen for creating a Google Map that shows the locations of the Austin Bakes for Japan sales!
You’ve done a great job getting this organized! Thank you! 🙂
We can’t wait to actually see everyone in person on the 2nd (with all their delicious yummies in tow)!!! 😀
Y’all are more than amazing and I am honored to be part of this. I plan on baking and buying. Mmmmmm!
Yay! I can walk my baked goods over to Nomad! 78723 REPRAZENT!

Thanks for all of your hard work! This will be amazing. But I am disappointed in North Austin’s participation. No one north of 53rd volunteered a location?? Sigh.
Hi Bel, we’re pretty bummed about that, too, especially since a lot of the bloggers and bakers and small businesses (who don’t have a storefront) helping out with the sale live North.
Still, we are psyched that the businesses in Central Austin and the surrounding parts of the city have been so supportive! Hopefully the folks up north won’t mind making a little drive for a good cause.
